Welcome to MPC'S Athletics Department
MPC offers intercollegiate athletic teams for men and women in 14 sports and is a member of the California Community College Athletic Association competing in the Coast Conference and the Northern California Football Conference. Each year approximately 225 student athletes participate in the athletic program.
MPC athletics has been a student success program since 1949. Research shows that student athletes achieve a higher grade point average and transfer at a higher rate than non-athletes. MPC has produced an impressive list of young men and women who have succeeded both athletically and academically over the years. It is our goal to continue this tradition of excellence.
ATHLETIC FACILITIES
Our athletes practice and play on some of the finest facilities in the State of California. Success is further enhanced by a state-of-the-art Fitness and Weight Training Center which features both aerobic and strength training opportunities. Knowledgeable Coaches, Athletic Trainers, Equipment Staff, and Academic Counselors all contribute to athletic achievement.
Student athlete success is a team effort. MPC Athletics is supported by the faculty, staff, administration and the Board of Trustees, along with the residents of the Monterey Peninsula and surrounding communities. This effort and support has provided the opportunity for hundreds of student athletes to achieve their academic and athletic dreams.
ONE GOAL! ONE TEAM! GO LOBOS!

EADA REPORT
The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) Gender Equity Survey is a report that California Community Colleges are required to make available to all prospective student athletes. The EADA Survey is evidence of the institution's commitment to providing equitable athletic opportunities for its men's and women's students. All institutions of higher education that participate in federal student aid programs must complete their annual EADA report by October 15 of each year. A copy of the college's EADA Survey is available in the Kinesiology Division or by clicking the following link: EADA Report

Black Lives Matter
Monterey Peninsula College Athletics firmly believes that Black Lives Matter. We condemn racial injustice and acts of violence against people of color, and stand in solidarity with our Black community.
As coaches, we recognize that words of support need to be followed up with meaningful action. We are in the process of engaging in significant conversation and continuing education on this very important topic, and we encourage active participation and feedback from our student-athletes. Supporting the student-athletes we serve is integral to our work as coaches and staff. We are working tirelessly to keep athletics on our campus, as we understand that athletic participation at the California Community College level has a profoundly positive impact on our student-athletes and their families.
MPC Athletics is committed to providing educational resources and support to our coaches and staff who are directly responsible for the physical and mental health of student-athletes. We are committed to listening, learning, and responding to the voices and needs of our Black community members. We are committed to breaking down the barriers of institutional racism, and ensuring an inclusive and accessible culture and campus for all members of our community.
